People come from every corner of the globe to experience a mouthwatering bite of perfectly baked New York pizza. At Saluggi’s in TriBeCa, the freshest ingredients are used in baking every pizza pie to create artful combinations of the crispiest dough, creamiest cheese and classic pie toppings.

Each morning, Saluggi’s makes their own mozzarella cheese. Completely fresh and creamy, the cheese is generously spread atop the smoothly rolled out dough. Whether it’s the taste of the rich and perfectly seasoned tomato sauce, or the individual flavors of each topping, Saluggi’s pies leave every globetrotting diner satisfied.

Choose from a variety of classic Italian pizza combinations in 12- or 18-inch pies. Try the not-so little Little Italy pie, topped with crumbled Italian sausage, roasted peppers, caramelized onions, sweet tomato sauce, baked with two cheeses, parmesan and fresh handmade mozzarella.

The Italian Deli pizza is a meat and cheese lover’s dream pie, featuring two meats (salami and ham) and three cheeses (provolone, feta cheese, mozzarella) and topped with caramelized onions. For the non meat lovers, try Grandma Saluggi’s pizza pie. Similar to a Sicilian, this pizzeria special is a thin crusted pie with herbs, crushed tomatoes, fresh mozzarella and shredded mozzarella cut up in squares. The vegetarians are not forgotten at Saluggi’s. Their traditional vegetarian pizza pie is topped with mushrooms, roasted peppers, black olives, red onions, sun-dried tomatoes, and homemade mozzarella.

Come down to Saluggi’s in TriBeCa and fall in love with some classic New York pizza. Bring your friends, family, and of course your appetite!

Guest blog from Sabrina Espinal, Social Media Specialist

I have a pretty spicy niche of restaurants and social media. I didn’t set out to specialize in social media for restaurants and I certainly have other clients that are not in the food biz but my love for the industry became a great match.

Restaurants really don’t have the time to manage all the levels of social media and social customer service that happens while they are cooking, greeting customers, managing employee and checking morning deliveries. It’s just not possible. And it’s sad to see a restaurant have a “friend” do their social media just because they are always on Facebook. Alas, I think most companies have seen that fail miserably when they don’t know who set up their accounts and everything is abandoned. Oh, and I can’t forget the companies that offer mechanized social media for restaurants that do nothing but take their money and propose a daily harassment of restaurant specials…don’t get me started on this terrible presentation of social media. Where is the strategy?

I get it. I know restaurants don’t have or want to spend a fortune on social media but they must know that…whether they like it or not…the restaurant industry is “smack dab in the middle” of social discussions that will help or hurt their business. People are eating and talking and tweeting and checking into restaurants and they desperately want to be acknowledged from their favorite eatery. Just last week after giving a #ff (Twitter Follow Friday) to a fan of a restaurant that I handle…the customer excitedly Twitted to the world that they had just been acknowledged by one of the favorite spots. That’s a nice ROI. Every restaurant is like a person. It has it’s own unique personality, voice and style that needs the right strategy and marketing along with the right social media voice. Let me share a few engagement tips that I use when managing Social Media for Restaurants. Please understand that you shouldn’t do everything on this list because each restaurant is unique.

The cobblestone streets of Lower Manhattan’s Tribeca neighborhood lead to trendy boutiques, galleries, small local businesses and numerous international dining venues. Among these eateries are those that offer Italian fare, including most everyone’s all-time favorite—pizza. Venture to any of these local favorites, and savor a taste of Italy. Buon appetito.

If you’re looking for some unique specialty pies, a visit to Saluggi’s Pizza on 325 Church Street is your answer. While the casual venue carries tasty slices of plain cheese pizza, meat lovers may want to sample their Italian Deli pie, which, just like the sandwich for which it’s named, comprises ham, salami and provolone, plus caramelized onions over a marinara sauce. The more adventurous veggie lovers may want a slice of the brussel sprout pizza with yes, roasted brussel sprouts, complemented by crispy bacon, caramelized onion and mozzarella. For a taste of gorgonzola, mozzarella and a mix of walnuts and onions, try their Blue pizza.

Of course, as with most Italian eateries, Saluggi’s serves up more than just pizza. The eggplant rollatini and shrimp parmesan entrees hit the spot.

Choose from among the tables inside, or dine al fresco by grabbing one of two tables outside during the warmer months.
